Driving means I can carry more books home
After a great deal of consideration and not a little drama, I've decided to attend World Fantasy in Columbus this year. Membership and hotel room were purchased last night. It's going to be about a 6.5 hour drive, I'm guessing.
I did this mostly because I'm in terrible need of socialization. I miss my people. I sort of despair of ever having people I can just hang out with locally, both because my prospects are poor and because I'm kind of terrible at that. Also, The Horns of Ruin will be just about to drop, and I'm kind of excited about that. This will be a fine kick off for the release.
So anyway. See you in Ohio.

Tim-
There are several Chicago area conventions, including the largest fan-run, Windycon, which is in November, about a week after World Fantasy and the drop of Horns of Ruin. It is actually located in Lombard, so you should be able to do it.

Yes, actually, I've attended Windy the last couple years, and even had panels and such last year. Originally, Windycon was the only one I was going to this year, but I've added WFC to my schedule. See you in Lombard!
Seeing this post prompted me to register. See you in Columbus, Cap'n. I, too, shall be driving, and oh, when east meets west what a day that shall be.
Hey, glad you'll be there! We can drag race our sensible suburban cars through the streets of Columbus, auteur-style.
Tim - I'll be attending Columbus also after missing WFC in Cali last year. Look forward to catching up over a brew.
Good news, man. See you there!
